‘Tis the perfect season to reflect our gratefulness for the year 2021.
COVID has taken a toll on everyone, rich and poor, young and adult. We have encountered numerous challenges in the last few months, even years. Due to the pandemic, all of us have undergone such difficulties that significantly affected our emotional, financial, and mental state.
Despite of all the hindrances, we still need to be thankful of what we have.
A beautiful song reminded me of such thing and I would never forget one of its meaningful line…
If you’re worried and you can’t sleep,
Just count your blessings instead of sheep…
It’s a song written by Irvin Berlin entitled “Count Your Blessing Instead of Sheep” with an enormous number of renditions worldwide. Jose Mari Chan’s version is what I love the most and I listen to it every now and then especially this Holiday season.
When I’m worried and I can’t sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings
When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessingsI think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds
If you’re worried and you can’t sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you’ll fall asleep counting your blessingsI think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
By Irvin Berlin
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds
If you’re worried and you can’t sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you’ll fall asleep counting your blessings
I am now 28, I have a lot to be grateful of, and guess what, I literally count them until I fall asleep. 🙂
I am very thankful because I’m now pregnant with our first baby, after a long wait of several months.
I am very thankful that our unborn baby is totally fine after we found out about it 4 to 5 months ago.
I am very thankful that even my husband didn’t have a job for a few months during the pandemic, he’s still working on the same company now continuously.
I am very thankful that I, my father and my sister secured our jobs even during the pandemic.
I am very thankful that my father was able to survive COVID considering he was almost 60.
I am very thankful that my mother and youngest sister survived COVID’s symptoms too.
I am very thankful that despite the economic instability, we are still able to eat three times a day.
I am very thankful that despite the financial difficulties, we are still able to pay our bills and loans on time.
I am very thankful that none of families, relatives and friends have lost their lives due to having COVID.
I am very thankful that my colleagues survived from this virus too.
Oh! I am also very thankful that neither I nor my husband got the virus – perhaps we did, we just didn’t tested positive at the time we got the symptoms.
I am very thankful that even though we don’t have much money in the bank, we are happy to have it invested to some other valuable things instead.
I am very thankful to be able to take care of my plants now after a disastrous 1st trimester of pregnancy.
I am very thankful that we were able to find a shelter in the city (Dubai) where my husband and I could reside peacefully.
I am very thankful that I only have now a 15-minute hassle-free drive to and from work.
I am very thankful that we are able to choose a lot in our home country (Philippines) that we could invest in so we could build our home for our future family.
I am very thankful that my families, relatives and friends are safe despite the typhoons in the Philippines.
I am very thankful that my youngest sister was still able to study at home and have free online classes during the pandemic.
I am very thankful to be still here writing this blog hoping I could still continue for the next few years. As you know, domain name and website hosting aren’t free. 🙂
Even if you’re struggling, there are so many things to be grateful for, though some times we feel like losing hope. When it’s hard to see the good that’s right in front of you and you’re worried and severely confused of what to do, just count your blessings. You’ll figure how truly blessed you are!
May this New Year be a new beginning for all of us!
Cheers to 2022!

I am now 27 and there`s a lot to be grateful for too. The pandemic taught us to realize what`s the most important things to us and prioritize our health. It`s the best time to reflect and give thanks
One of my gratitude habits is counting three thrings that Im thankful for in life before going to sleep. Doing that everyday has really rewired my brain to think positively and feel happier.
Very true. I find myself very peaceful when I stop and think about all the good things in my life.
