Daily Short Blog #9
It has been a very busy week for me for the last few months juggling my full-time job, my blogging and of course, my pregnancy. Being pregnant, (hello to all moms out there!) is not easy but feels so delightful. It has its ups and downs.
So, I have been blogging for the last 2 years, since December 2019 and only this month, February 2022, when I got my first salary from Google AdSense. It’s not that much but I felt very happy and accomplished for receiving it. My first site name was www.simplydee.blog and I have changed it to pinoyupnorth.com/ when I finally came up with a main goal for doing my blog, and that is – to share health tips and wellness advise.
I have been blogging erratically due to my engagements and multi-tasking so that all things could work out. It’s also been difficult during the pandemic, so looking for some part-time job or side line was also great to help with financial expenses. I know you guys could relate. 🙂
Attitude is a little thing that can make a big difference.
How To Earn from Google AdSense
Well, there are several different ways to earn from Google AdSense:
First, the content on your site must be unique and interesting. And this is the first challenge I have encountered when I first started. It’s difficult to formulate to right blog topics since I don’t know what readers would most likely to read. My easiest solution for this is to keep on blogging especially within my niche. Who knows? Readers might read any of my blogs unexpectedly.
Second, and of course, the content must comply with The Google Content Policies and Guidelines in which you have to focus on relevant and concise content, since placing excessive, repetitive or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages will not be allowed. Also, you need to avoid using hidden text or hidden links within your site’s webpages.
Next, is you have to meet the Google AdSense eligibility criteria wherein you have to be at least 18 years old and above and you should have at least 30 articles published that are unique and valuable to readers. There is no minimum traffic amount that you should have, however the more, the better.
Moreover, your site must have clear way to navigate. As for me, since I’m using WordPress, I customize my site appearance using the Elementor which is a good and easy way to manage how your site will look to readers. It’s beginner-friendly and it offers several theme options.
Other important things you should keep in mind is that you should not publish plagiarized content, otherwise your site will be shut down. Also, your site should be at least six months old and that you have enough traffic and there are several ways to achieve this. You may use different social media platforms to share your blogs. For example, when a user search one topic from Facebook or Twitter and they clicked the URL link that corresponds to your blog, this way, the number of readers visiting your website will significantly increase.
Lastly, I’m not sure about this, but it’s not a good thing to blog anything about abusive experiences, or include fake messages or any misleading practices because this may cause your website to be blocked permanently and therefore losing your site views and income.
How To Check Your Earnings from Google AdSense
First, sign in to your Google AdSense account then click ‘Settings Payments’ on top left. There, you’ll see your total earnings for the selected timeframes as well as your recent transactions.
The Takeaway
Receiving my first salary with Google AdSense made me more inspired to produce more blogs in the future. And for me, it’s a huge accomplishment that I have been waiting for a very long time. When I received that notification from Gmail, I was surprised and exhilarated!
So if you’re a blogger and haven’t earned from it even after several months of blogging, just keep doing it. Continue blogging, share your thoughts and whatever your heart wants to say. It will take time for you to gain enough traffic especially when you’re not a full time blogger like me. Do not worry, just be more patient.
I hope this blog could be an inspiration to other bloggers out there. 🙂
