Due to the pandemic, using disposable masks has been part of everyone’s normal routine. And to spice it up, we handmade face masks in colorful varieties. This way, masks could be more fashionable and exciting to wear.
It is safe as it has a cloth lining inside and there’s a pouch where you can place the filter as well. This pattern is indeed quick to make perfect for beginners. Hope you have fun making and wearing these!
Legend:
CH – chain
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
**repeat the same pattern until the end of the row**
Materials Used:
- Alize Cotton Gold Yarn (each mask will only take up to 1/2 to 2/3 of each ball)
- 4.0 mm Crochet Hook
- A pair of scissors
- A darning needle
- A stitch marker
- Tape Measure
- Elastic straps for the ears
- Cloth for the lining (optional)

The Start
Row 1
CH – 32, then SC – 1 on the 2nd CH from the hook, SC – 1 on each of the next 3 CH,
HDC – 1 on each of the next 3 CH, DC – 1 on each of the next 17 CH,
HDC – 1 on each of the next 3 CH, SC – 1 on each of the next 4 CH
Row 2
CH – 1, turn your work around, SC – 1 on each of the next 4 CH,
HDC – 1 on each of the next 3 CH, DC – 1 on each of the next 17 CH,
HDC – 1 on each of the next 3 CH, SC – 1 on each of the next 4 CH
**Repeat the same pattern as Row 2 to complete 8 to 9 rows depending on your desired length**
The Accessories
- Sew the elastic straps using needle and thread. Make the length fits you so that the face mask will not be too loose or too tight to your face / nose.
- Sew the lining using a piece of clean cloth, this is optional. If a cloth is not available, you may use a disposable face mask to cover your nose.
- You may also crochet a pouch inside your face mask, just like what I did on the other products. Through this, you can place a filter for double protection.
