Setting goals can be super shattering for some people, though it is just half was of the battle. But no worries, there’s still plenty of time to reach your goals and make 2021 your best year ever. When you’re thinking of what goals to set for yourself, make sure to include a few from this list:
Let’s start with,
This is the year…
1. I’m getting more systematized.

It may start with sorting out your daily routine. To start with, I have prepared a daily journal that allows me to input the main activities I aim to finish and those which I have accomplished. Through this, you would be fulfilled and more motivated to perform more.
2. I will create a more organized monthly budget.

Money is one of the single biggest stressors for people especially the millennials. It is also one of the significant roots of conflict in marriages and relationships. So it definitely seems that getting your money under control should be pretty high on the priority list!
I went years of my adult life without creating a monthly budget. Looking back, it’s still crazy to me that I really didn’t know where my money was going every month. Creating a monthly budget allowed me to get my money under control in a way I honestly couldn’t even have imagined.
Basically, I found Microsoft Excel an extremely useful tool to record my income and expenses in a way that I would be able to monitor my expenditures and how good/ bad I am on managing my own earnings. You might want to try the same and see what works best for you.
Just to add to your financial goals this year, you may also want to start saving for your retirement, get out of debt, or use a monthly zero-based budget.
3. I’m going to learn a new skill.

One of my favorite things about blogging and crocheting is that I have learned several skills that I absolutely did not set out to learn before. This year, I would love to learn the art of knitting and sewing. Nowadays, we are more engaged to technological advancement that we are forgetting the skills our ancestors had. As much as possible, I love learning new abilities since it encourages me to improve and be better on all the things I do.

How about you? Which skills are you eager to learn this year?
4. I’m going to make time for self-care.

Self-care is absolutely the most important factor than any other things, however, most of us are not giving enough time for it. It isn’t just about having fun and pampering yourself but also giving yourself enough time to sleep therefore taking care of your mental and physical health to help you be more productive as always.

5. I will improve my side hustle.

I’m a huge proponent of having a side hustle. I started blogging and crocheting back in 2019. At the time it was only meant to be a hobby, but it has definitely turned into a side hustle!
Looking back, I’m so grateful I started it when I did. Not only has it allowed me to earn extra money alongside my full-time job, but it has also paved way for personal and professional development.
6. I’m going to travel, have fun and go on more adventures.

I love to travel but I didn’t get to do enough of it this 2020 due to the travel restrictions. In 2018 and 2019, I was able to travel to different places where I had never been before such as The Maldives, Hongkong, Azerbaijan, and Singapore.
If travelling is in your budget for this year, I absolutely recommend making it a personal goal for yourself. And rather than visiting the same destinations you’ve visited before, branch out and explore new places. When it comes to travel, whether it be hiking, exploring history, or laying on a sandy beach, you can always find a new destination to visit.

7. I will be healthier and fit.

This is without a doubt the most common goal people set for themselves each year, however it’s the most challenging too! My eating habits are significantly better than they used to be yet they aren’t perfect. Rather than pushing yourself to cut entire food groups or go on extremely restrictive diets, aim for a slow progress and a cleaner diet.

8. I’m going to reassess my career objectives.

Spend some time thinking about your career while considering your short and long term goals. Think about the company you work for and whether you see a future there. Sometimes, your career objectives may have changed so much that you would want to make a transition to a totally different industry. Otherwise, you may want to work towards a promotion or raise, polish up and learn something new about your current line of work.
9. I’m going to reunite with old friends.

I have a few close friends from secondary school, college and from the previous companies I worked for whom I have been apart for several years now. This year, I want to make it a goal, to just a have at least a short conversation with them and ask how they are doing.
If you have a best friend or a group of friends whom you have drifted apart from and haven’t seen in a long while, reach out and try to reconnect. You’ll be surprised for what you did. Look for new ways to connect with them and say ‘yes’ when someone invites you out to lunch if it’s for the better.
10. I’m going to spend time for meditation.

We can say that nowadays, it has been really stressful for all of us. We all have a fair share of stress, anxiety and a bit of depression. Meditation greatly helps for improving focus, productivity and personal development. This is great especially if you are struggling with anxiety.
11. I’m going to build an emergency fund.

I suppose all of us already know that you need to have an emergency fund. As for me, I struggled for a long time to start building mine then finally, this year, I planned to save it on a separate bank account in order for me to avoid spending it on any other expenses other than needs during crucial situations such as sudden sickness, unforeseen car repairs, job loss, and many other possible critical situations, which I’m not wishing for or expecting to happen. Hence, as much as you can, save for yourself and keep some funds that you can use in the future.
12. I’m going to build new habits and banish those unpleasant ones.

Admit it, we all have a bad habit or two, such as excessive drinking, smoking, or chronic lateness, and most of us have probably tried giving it up a few times and almost have given up. It’s easier than it sounds but don’t ever give up!
13. I’m going to be smarter.

You may want to aim finishing your degree, getting an MBA, or reading a good book every month.
And,
14. I will be spending less time online.
15. I’m going to stop procrastinating.
16. I’m going to be more productive.
17. I’m going to get richer.
18. I’m going to achieve inner peace.
19. I’m going to be happier.
20. I’m going to be more creative.
21. I’m going to increase my will power.
22. I’m going to boost my self-esteem.
23. I’m going to increase self-motivation.
24. I’m going to make better use of time.
25. I’m going to become a better person.
The list goes on. Share what your personal goals are to make 2021 your best year ever!

Just always make sure to work towards a goal that you are passionate about. Your parents cannot force you to take any courses or switch careers; even your spouse cannot dictate your financial decisions.
Do what your heart desires.
You have to want it. The goals you set should be your goals. You are the one who would make it real, so get in there and start swinging!
