Daily Short Blog #12
There are some times when we feel uninspired and lazy to get things done. Though unavoidable, there are things we can do to counteract it. It can be caused by being tired of everything or just being messed up.
Here are some things that could help you get up and go determined:
1. Focus on the important things.
Take things and solve problems one at a time. Avoid tackling everything at once. Laziness is a product of a full plate most of the time especially when you have no idea where to start.
2. Exercise regularly.
When you exercise, your brain cells are being activated and function properly. Getting physically active will help you feel a lot better and have more energy which will help you find answers to your problems that you hadn’t thought of before.
3. Reduce your screen time.
Find some time to turn off your electronics. Give yourself a break and sit with your thoughts. There are several moments when you feel like you can’t get up, can’t do anything and can’t figure out what to do first, it’s because your brain is racing.
4. Count your blessings.
As it has been said, “If you’re worried and you can’t sleep, just count your blessings instead of sheep.”
With a piece of paper and your favorite pen, write the things that you’re grateful for. Some people find writing by hand help their thoughts flow more smoothly.
Even if you’re struggling, there are so many things to be grateful for, though sometimes we feel like losing hope. When it’s hard to see the good that’s right in front of you and you’re worried and severely confused of what to do, just count your blessings. You’ll figure how truly blessed you are!

5. Get your things organized.
For the unnecessary stuffs you have, declutter and pitch them to a donation box for recycling. This could also work for your mind. It’s easier to organize your thoughts when everything is properly sorted out. Inversely, when you have chaotic thoughts, it would be very difficult to feel motivated to do anything.
6. Always do self-talk positively.
Being lazy is also a result of negative self-talk by convincing yourself that there’s nothing you can do for everything you have on your place. If you would keep on having this kind of attitude then, you won’t get anywhere.
7. Plan your meals for the upcoming days.
This will help you save time and energy by avoiding unnecessary visits to the grocery. When you have a properly laid out meal plan, you will have the correct ingredients on your list and thus, will give you less possibility of forgetting to buy anything you need.
By writing a meal plan, you would also be looking forward to the upcoming days feeling excited about the recipes you’ll be cooking soon.
8. Play a game with your loved ones.
This will keep you away from being a couch potato the whole day! May it be a puzzle game, scrabble or cards, for sure all of you would enjoy it – not only your brain cells will be activated, but you’ll also have the perfect bonding time you’ve ever needed.
9. Breathe and allow yourself a time to rest.
Being lazy and resting has a huge difference. Laziness is doing nothing and has no purpose. Resting is necessary to clear your mind so you can tackle life’s endeavour’s. Let yourself have a break – our mind and body needs rest to properly function at optimal levels.
10. Read a motivational book.
These days, most of the things are now available online. But if you are trying to reduce your screen time, purchasing a book, even a second-hand one would be very ideal. You may read it and reflect on its message. Every book has its own lessons, words and inspiration that you may apply to your life.
