Dubai is among the best cities in the world where one would dream of travelling to. From visiting primary landmarks to taking shots of its picturesque scenes, it is definitely worth it. No question why a lot of tourists coming from different countries spend their holidays in the country.
Here comes the advantage of staying in such a place. Being a resident here for five years gives us the advantage to explore this beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert. Aside from enjoying the extravagant shopping promotions and having a picnic at a public park or seaside, visiting amusement parks must also be one of your “To-do’s” here in Dubai. Here are some of them:

Another remarkable place to all the residents and tourists alike is the Global Village. It is a seasonal part-theme park/ part-market in Dubai which features pavilions with displays from different countries where visitors can buy traditional handicrafts and snacks. This place has a lot to offer, aside from the pavilions, it also has an extensive Carnival where visitors can enjoy the different amusement rides, enter haunted houses, win fairs, and watch skillful stunt shows.
The ticket costs AED 15 or USD 4 per person which can be bought at the ticket gates and, now, can also be bought online so that visitors can plan their visit ahead. It is usually open during the winter season which is normally from end of October to the first week of April, thus, it is a great place to enjoy the cold weather, just make sure to wear the proper outfit.
I and my husband have been visiting the place every year since 2015 which I can say that a lot of things have changed and developed which is the primary reason why we make sure to visit at least once every opening. Now, there are a few more interesting things added to the festival. It is considered that every year, each of the pavilions’ unique façade will change into a better one while maintaining its uniqueness.
There are an abundant reasons to visit these theme park. Some of these are:
1. To take a selfie at the one-of-a-kind Pavilions
There are numerous countries showcased at the Global Village including India, Africa, Pakistan, Egypt, Morocco, Russia, Turkey, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan and continents as well such as Africa, Russia, Europe and the America. It is a very distinctive way to represent the countries worldwide exhibiting arts and traditions from different cultures.

2. To try other countries’ local foods
Food lovers will absolutely enjoy an enormous number of foods the Global Village has to offer. Imagine each country showcasing each of their delicacies? Well, that is definitely a lot. People visit the Turkey pavilion mainly for the Turkish ice cream sold by the cheerful Turkish vendors, Thailand for their seafood noodle soups and pad thai, Japan for their Japanese Cheesecakes and takoyakis, the UAE for their kunafahs and luqaimats, Philippines for their famous street foods, and many more.

3. To shop some souvenirs and other goodies
Entering each country’s pavilion is like visiting the country itself. Inside each structure, you will be able to find a variety of handicrafts, clothes, carpets, lamps, and other mementos that represents each other’s arts and culture. You will also be amazed on how cheerful the vendors are!
4. To try the carnival rides
If you are an adrenaline-rush seeker, well definitely this place is for you. They have the ferris wheel, bumper cars, fly france (Pendulum swing), global burj (drop tower), pirate ship, Athens slingshot (reverse bungee), booster, skywalker and many others. They also have the carousel and a smaller reverse bungee for children.
5. To see the extraordinary view of Global Village from the top
Through a ride with their Ferris Wheel, you will be able to see the whole theme park and enjoy the magnificent view of dancing lights, walking people from here and there, rocking rides, and all the beautiful pavilions.
6. To win awesome prizes at the Fun fairs
Who doesn’t love playing games at the fairs?!? The family fun fair park features a unique blend of various rides and attractions suited for the entire family and guests of all ages. Once you’re in Global Village, you would not be able to resist playing! First, you need to buy a card, just like the one you buy in Timezone, and there you go. With over unlimited number of games, you could then win one of their great plush toys be it the giant banana, auberjine, minion or the Globo toys.

Global Village is the perfect place to gather and spend time with your family, friends and colleagues. It’s a favorite spot among residents, locals and tourists to experience Dubai’s favorite multi-cultural festival. It is accessible by public transportation through the bus or taxi. Aside from this, the feeling of satisfaction and enjoyment you experience after your visit here is quite fulfilling. Yes, you got exhausted but gratified.
