Moving to Finland was never part of our original plan.
Our journey started while we were still living and working in Dubai and eventually led us through recruitment, Finnish language training, residence permit applications, leaving our life in the UAE, and finally starting over in Finland.
I have been documenting the journey little by little through this blog series.

My Finnish Language Journey
Learning Finnish became one of the biggest parts of our preparation for moving to Finland.
I started with very basic Finnish while we were still living in Dubai. From vocabulary and grammar to benchmark tasks, oral assessments, reviewers, and endless repetition, learning Finnish was definitely not easy.
And even after moving to Finland, the learning continued.

Final Thoughts
Pinoy Up North started as a place where I could share our experiences, but little by little, it has also become a record of how much we have learned along the way.
From leaving Dubai to building a life in Finland, from saying my first Finnish words to using the language in everyday life, every part of the journey has taught me something.
I hope these stories and resources can somehow help someone walking a similar path.
